Book Deshun for upcoming Secretaries Day events in September
MOUNTAINS AND MANICURES!!!!
Deshun gets really excited this time of year!
a) Because she speaks to more female audiences than at any other time of the year.
b) There are some stories that male audiences are just not supposed to (or ready to) hear.
c) The energy and spirit of female audiences are a great inspiration to female speakers.
A fun and exciting topic on the adventures of female climbers. Mountains and Manicures will keep you gasping and giggling throughout.
Dear Deshun
Just to say what a pleasure it was to meet and to listen to your amazing
stories - you are definitely on the top of my speaker list and as soon as
the right function comes along, we will book you.
In the meantime, go climb those mountains - I am totally in awe of you
Kind regards
Edith Venter

DESHUN DEYSEL - Consistently voted "Best Speaker" at conferences and events.
Tackling the Summit!
How to stick to your goals.
Climbing Everest is like reaching a series of mini summits. Every time you reach a personal milestone, you've mentally and emotionally reached the top of another mountain.
From Couch Potato to Mountaineer
From childhood in an Eastern Cape township to high altitude mountaineer, Deshun takes her audience on an enthralling adventure of hope, determination and achievement.
10 Deadly Sins of Climbing Everest
Deshun is the only South African mountaineer who has lived through the two most talked about South African expeditions to Mt. Everest. There are stories within the stories, which has never been revealed.
- What is the worst thing that can happen on an Everest expedition?
- How does one minimise risk?
- What makes the difference between success and failure when tackling a high mountain?
- Who takes responsibility for which aspect of the climb?
- How are expedition teams (as opposed to a guided teams) selected?
These and many more questions about the nature of a harmonious team and one which is falling apart are answered in this inspirational talk.
Deshun draws from lessons learnt on the two most controversial and well talked about Mt. Everest expeditions from South Africa. The 1st South African Mt. Everest expedition (in 1996) is still a fresh memory for many South Africans. "What really went wrong?" and "What could have been avoided?" are questions that Deshun is asked on a regular basis. What leadership and teamwork dynamics influenced the outcome of that (now famous) story written in John Krakauer's INTO THIN AIR?
The 2nd Expedition (Discovery Health "to the 7th Summit") which saw Sean Wisedale become the first South African to climb the 7 Summits, had it's fair share of ups and downs. What can we learn from both expeditions? Do we face face similar situations in the work place?
You will be surprised at the simple things which make a massive difference.
