Shape's 2008 Cover Look competition

Deshun to judge "Shape Sanex" cover look competition
Shape magazine and Sanex have again teamed up to run the 2008 competition to find "one woman who epitomises all that Shape and Sanex stand for".
2008 Discovery Vitality Fitness Convention
Held in February 2008 in Midrand, Johannesburg, the annual Discovery Vitality Fitness Convention is again a collaboration between The Sports Science Institute of SA (SSISA) and Discovery Health. Aimed at everyone in the health and fitness industries, the theme for 2008 was "Bridging the gap between health, fitness and sport" and Deshun was been invited to deliver a keynote address during the 3-day event. Other keynote speakers were Prof Tim Noakes, Lewis Gordon Pugh ("the human polar bear"), Jake White and Richard Beddie (CEO of Fitness New Zealand) and Deshun was delighted to be in such distinguished company.
SSISA strive to be world class in everything they do - from research, teaching, service provision and, of course, their annual Fitness Convention. With 3 programs running simultaneously, and being presented by a dazzling array of health and fitness professionals, this years convention was again the world class event that the delegates keep coming back for each year!

Deshun leads youngsters up Table Mountain
In support of the international Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, Deshun led a group of Cape Flats youngsters up Plattekloof Gorge to the top of Table Mountain on Sunday, 28 October. She was joined by Natalie du Toit, Bronwyn Bok-Jonathan and Iain Banner - all of whom are Friends and Ambassadors of Laureus.
The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Trust in South Africa (with the support of Discover and Daimler Chrysler) funds and promotes sport as a powerful tool for progressive social change

Deshun reaches summit – but five still to go
UITENHAGE-BORN mountaineer Deshun Deysel had her head in the clouds last week when she reached the top of the highest mountain in Europe – the second of the coveted Seven Summits she hopes to conquer around the world.
La Femme called Deshun via satellite phone in rural Russia as she was returning from her ascent of Mount Elbrus. At 5 642m Elbrus is one of the Seven Summits – the highest peak on each of the earth‘s seven continents – that she plans to master before July 2009.
