High Altitude Mountaineering

In the past 12 years Deshun has been on 12 major
mountaineering expeditions, spanning five continents, and reached a personal record of 8 300m above sea level in 2003 in Mount Everest’s ‘Death Zone’.
In 2007 she launched her "7 Summits" program to climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents.
These are Aconcagua (South America), Carstensz Pyramid (Oceania), Elbrus (Europe), Everest (Asia), Kilimanjaro (Africa), Denali (North America) and Vinson Massif (Antarctica).
The program launched in Nepal in April with a trek from Kathmandu to Kala Pattar, at Mount Everest's South Base Camp.
Deshun led the international group of trekkers including the internationally renouwned UK former Olympic decathlete, and fellow Laureus Sport for Good Foundation member, Daley Thompson.
Sponsored by 1st for Women Insurance Brokers she went on to summit Mt Elbrus in the Russian Caucasus on 9 August 2007 and Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak,  in January 2008 thereby successfully completing the 1st 2 mountains in her 7 Summits quest.

Our focus is now on the expedition to Aconcagua (S America's highest peak) which is scheduled for late 2008 and this site will feature regular updates over the coming months.
